Giuseppe Ferrata was an Italian musician who emigrated to America. In 1885 after earning degrees in composition, piano and organ, he won a scholarship that allowed him to participate for three years in the lessons that F. Liszt held in Rome on the occasion of his many stays in the city. Around 1892, after having successfully undertaken a promising concert career, Ferrata decided to move to the US.
